Seminario: KVM on ARM virtualization

Michele Paolino (Virtual Open Systems) terrà il seminario "KVM on ARM virtualization".

  • Data: 02 dicembre 2015 dalle 15:00 alle 17:30

  • Luogo: Aula Magna, Scuola di Ingegneria e Architettura, Viale Risorgimento 2, Bologna

Abstract: The ARM architecture is expanding from low power Mobile devices such as smartphone and tablets, to server, automotive, Internet of Things (IoT), Networking Functions Virtualization (NFV) and High Performance Computing (HPC) platforms. In all these contexts, virtualization is used to run multiple instances of un-modified operating systems and improve system security and flexibility. During this seminar, the basic concepts of virtualization on ARM along with KVM, the hypervisor included in the Linux kernel, will be detailed. At the end of the session, the attendees will have the opportunity to directly experience these technologies, by running an ARM virtual machine on their personal laptop. Speaker: Michele Paolino, Software Architect, Virtual Open Systems The company: Virtual Open Systems, a French virtualization start up active in the areas of computing and networking virtualization coupled with hardware accelerators and security for HPC, NFV, automotive, etc. More info at www.virtualopensystems.com
